Arts and culture are central to urban planning and development, both as tools for storytelling and engagement, but also as portals into understanding and celebrating the local identity of a place, its history and culture.

Our Euston Tower Creative Producer project was an initiative we created for British Land, aimed to creatively engage with the local community, it’s businesses and i’ts residents, exploring the future use of Euston Tower.

The Euston Tower Creative Producers worked with our team to creatively connect people to place through a special photographic exhibition and short documentary film.

The projects purpose was to place local young people at the heart of the development, while providing opportunities through paid employment, up-skilling and professional development, creating additional value.

The project saw us commission and work with a team of Camden-based residents and aspiring creatives under the age of 25 to curate a public photography exhibition and short film that were exhibited in the public realm on Regent’s Place campus in Camden.

We were social impact consultants for British Land on the Euston Tower project, and the community engagement lead, this was one of many initiatives we designed.

With the guidance and support of my incredible team at Beyond The Box, I learned to wield my newfound creative skills to initiate positive change. Together, we embarked on a mission to transform the Euston Tower into a hub of inspiration, community engagement, and artistic expression.”

Capturing Camden: Connecting People to Place Documentary.

The documentary was designed to spark ideas, reflections and conversations with local people, businesses and creative organisations to inform the design development for Euston Tower, while providing employment opportunities for local young people, connecting them to place through a cultural placemaking project.

We have provided the Creative Producers with access to skills and training in film and photography, working alongside industry professionals, as well as training in presentation, interview skills and storytelling. The project saw us work in collaboration with Camden based creative arts organisations including Sankofa Storytelling Arts, Camden Black Creatives and photographers Sahara Williams and Ondre Roach.
