Patchwork Stories - A Celebration of South Asia Style, Story & Self

  • William Morris Gallery Lloyd Park, Forest Rd, London E17 4PP (map)

Patchwork Stories is a joyful, drop-in cultural celebration led by two South Asian photographers, Alisha Dar &Sade Mia. It honours the textures, beauty, and memories of South Asian culture through photography, craft, storytelling, and style. Visitors are invited to take part in:

Portrait Studio: Step in front of a vibrant South Asian fabric backdrop and have your portrait taken by Alisha and Sade, using both film and digital cameras. Photos will be shared via email, Google Drive, or QR code.

Zine & Collage Making: Create your own zine inspired by fashion, memory, and identity, using old magazines, fabric, and guided prompts. Examples include: “Draw your dream outfit,” “Who taught you to dress with pride?” and “How does fashion shape your identity?” Visitors can take their zine home or contribute it to a growing community display.

Snacks: Enjoy free traditional South Asian snacks served throughout the day.
