How to build with Natural, Ethical & Sustainable Materials

  • 215 mare street Mare Street London, England, E8 3QE United Kingdom (map)

In this workshop, we will creatively explore the issues and opportunities in the construction industry today. We will focus on how to source natural, ethical and sustainable materials.

We are all aware that we are having a detrimental impact on our wonderful planet. The construction industry alone creates 40% of CO2 emissions globally and must be held accountable. Materials sourcing and construction methods are key considerations to move towards a more sustainable future.

We will then apply these principles to the People's Pavilion 2023 winning design - asking - how do we build with natural, ethical and sustainable materials.

Re-Fabricate is a collective of architects and architectural professionals focusing on eradicating waste by promoting a circular economy in the built environment and beyond.

Since forming in 2019, radically practical in our approach, we have run several engagement projects with young professionals, schools, universities, and community groups on sustainability and circular economy thinking. These have ranged from online workshops, research programmes, and live builds. Through our work, we aim to help young people understand how these principles relate to their lives and give them the skills and knowledge to become agents for sustainable change in the future.

Sign up via Eventbrite and join us for this workshop on sourcing materials sustainably.
