Shape the Future of London – Free Community Workshop

Be part of the conversation shaping London’s future over the next 20–25 years.

This is the second workshop in our collaboration with Planning Aid for London, facilitated by Beyond The Box CIC. Join us for a free, in-person workshop where your voice can help influence the next London Plan — the capital’s long-term strategy for growth and development.

What’s it about?

As London grapples with challenges like affordable housing, climate change, wellbeing, transport, and regeneration, the Greater London Authority (GLA) is seeking feedback through its Towards a London Plan consultation.

This workshop will:

  • Demystify the planning system — what it is and why it affects your everyday life.

  • Introduce the consultation proposals in a simple and accessible way.

  • Create space for discussion on the issues that matter to you.

  • Support you to submit your own response to the GLA consultation (closes 22 June).

  • Contribute to a community-led Open Letter to the Mayor, making sure unheard voices are amplified.

We welcome participants of all backgrounds — especially those who might not usually engage in planning conversations.

Workshop Programme:

  • Welcome & introductions

  • Planning 101: What is planning?

  • Overview of the London Plan & consultation

  • Roundtable discussions on key themes

  • Collective reflections & next steps

  • GLA consultation support
