Sonic Sounds Series - Setting the stage for music performance

  • Morris + Company 215 Mare Street London, England, E8 3QJ United Kingdom (map)

Join us for this FREE event at Morris + Company in Hackney, for the first in a series of collaborative events in partnership with Gain Ctrl.

This interactive event will explore iconic cultural performances and take a deep dive into how these sets are realised and delivered. Sets offer the audience an experience and can push the boundaries of music beyond merely sound, fusing real-life experiences to large groups at once. They not only can captivate audiences and provide a show-stopping experience but can position artists the s in political and social contexts of the time.

What is the process designers go through to make their client's ideas a reality? How do musicians work collaboratively in the process to ensure their music is complemented through set design?

This event will hear from Zarya Vrabcheva, Designer at Stufish Entertainment Architects.

Zarya is an interdisciplinary designer and artist with a wide range of experience in the field of architecture, spatial and set design.

Her passion for culture and performance arts brought her to work for Stufish for the past 5 years, where she continues to nurture her interest in collaboration with professionals from diverse disciplines and creating sense-stimulating and thought-provoking stages and environments all around the world.

Zarya has been involved in numerous projects from the very early creative phase all the way through to construction. Some out of many include Weekends with Adele in Las Vegas, The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Madonna Madame X Tour, Hugh Jackman’s The Man The Music The Show, and Abba Voyage Arena where she has played the role of the lead associate designer.

Previously she worked as an exhibition designer at MET studio, London where she developed projects for clients such as the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, IET, and more.
