Experience an afternoon of electrifying fusion music celebrating migrant and underrepresented artists in the beautiful outdoor setting of the People’s Pavilion. Part of the Jamarabia Showcase Series, this unique event invites you to relax, dance, or sing along as three extraordinary acts take you on a musical journey across cultures and genres.
Line-Up:
Ustavi – A pan-Arab classical-experimental violin project by Syrian violinist Bassel Hariri, fusing Arab violin soundscapes with jazz, blues, folk, and electronic influences, rejecting strict genres in favour of authenticity and emotional resonance.
Eftekasat – A pioneering Egyptian jazz-fusion band blending oriental melodies with funk, jazz, and Latin grooves. Re-formed in London by founder Amro Salah in 2025, the new line-up brings fresh energy to their renowned sound.
Dub Caravan – The brainchild of Felix Aburdene, an American-Palestinian musician who marries classic 1970s Jamaican reggae with Arabic folk traditions, layered with electronic and futuristic elements for an unforgettable sonic experience.
Expect a cosy yet energetic vibe in an open-air setting, where you can engage however you feel—meditate, dance, or join in the music. We believe in creating spaces that encourage both reflection and celebration.
Food & Hospitality:
We're collaborating with Utopia Food, a refugee-led food project run by Hind Danoun. Utopia Food specialises in authentic Middle Eastern dishes, featuring a mix of spices and ingredients from Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. From traditional wraps to unique desserts inspired by her hometown in southern Syria, Hind’s creations are a testament to her heritage and culinary expertise.—adding a taste of home to this multicultural gathering.
Curator:
Jamarabia Live Music Sessions is an art collective managed by Antika Culture & Diaspora CIC. Based in London, it’s a dynamic platform for artistic exploration that centres Arab culture and its intersections with other migrant traditions. Through music, food, storytelling, and visual arts, Jamarabia challenges assumptions about “Arabness” in the UK and beyond, creating immersive experiences that spark dialogue and connection.
