People’s Pavilion 2025: Youth Building Cultural Space

This film captures the creation of People’s Pavilion 2025, the third iteration of London’s youth-led design, build and cultural festival pavilion. Over a ten-month process, more than thirty young co-designers worked alongside architects, engineers and makers to develop a shared vision for a temporary public structure.

Guided by Beyond the Box, the young designers led the process from concept sketches through to the final build. Constructed in just eight days by more than seventy volunteers, the pavilion was installed in the gardens of the William Morris Gallery in Waltham Forest, a site deeply connected to Morris’s legacy of creativity, craft and social change.

The pavilion became the centrepiece for a free community festival programmed by young people, featuring music, film screenings, art and making workshops, demonstrating the power of youth-led cultural placemaking.
