This film documents Design Makers Week, a collaborative programme in Thamesmead where local young residents worked alongside architects, designers and creative practitioners to explore ideas for a new youth-focused space in Southmere.

Delivered as part of the South Thamesmead Social Value programme for Peabody, the workshops created space for young people to contribute their perspectives on what a welcoming, creative and inclusive environment should look like in their neighbourhood.

Participants explored design thinking, storytelling and creative expression while developing ideas for the future space. Their insights helped inform the development of The Lounge, a youth-led pop-up creative hub designed to support connection, creativity and opportunity for young people in Thamesmead.
