This film tells the story of The Lounge, a youth-focused creative and community pop-up space in South Thamesmead designed to support young people to connect, create and explore new opportunities.

Developed as part of the South Thamesmead Social Value programme for Peabody and delivered by Beyond the Box CIC, the space was shaped through ongoing conversations and collaboration with local young residents.

The Lounge provides a welcoming environment where young people can take part in creative workshops, explore music, design and art, and develop skills connected to entrepreneurship and the creative industries. Through storytelling, mentoring and community-led activity, the programme supports young people to build confidence while contributing ideas and energy to the future of their neighbourhood.

More than just a venue, The Lounge is a platform for youth leadership, creativity and community connection in Thamesmead.
